Mein is a chinese restaurant created by restaurant mogul Mike Tran. It serves some of the cities best Cantonese food at affordable prices. You can find black bean clams, juicy xiao long baos, chili oil chicken and much more. Definitely a place you must visit!

Mala Sichuan Bistro
Mala Sichuan Bistro is probably Houstons most famous Sichuan style restaurant. People from all over love to dine here as they serve some of the tastiest and spiciest foods.
Some of the highlights are the red oil dumplings which are so plump and juicy, the map tofu which is so soft yet spicy, cumin lamb which is super delicious. Whatever you decide to eat, I guarantee you will love it.
House Of Bowls

If you are looking for the best soup dumplings Houston has to offer then look no further. Here at One Dragon, they serve up some of the best soup dumplings you’ll ever find. It is a local mom and pop shop with only a few tables inside, but it is totally worth it.

If you want great tasting Peking duck, then you need to come to this spot. Although they do serve other foods here that are just as delicious, the Peking duck here is on another level. It’s juicy and moist, yet so tender and tasty, you will fall in love with it immediately.

Crawfish & Noodles
Crawfish and Noodles serve some of the best tasting crawfish you’ll ever taste. This restaurant specializes in a fusion between Vietnamese and Cajun which makes the overall taste so much more tastier. Instead of the traditional flavor profile of Louisiana-style boils, find mudbugs tossed in a buttery garlic sauce with lemongrass, chiles, and herbs that exemplifies the kind of cultural mash-up that could only happen in Houston.

Don Sandwich and Café
Don Sandwich and Cafe is arguably Houston’s best Banh Mi shop. This place is a hole in the wall that not many people know about, but once they do, they’ll be mind blown. The banh mi here is literally like no other and also insanely cheap. Do bring cash on hand as that is literally all they take.

Alpha Bakery & Deli
Another popular Banh Mi shop that serves up some delicious sandwiches. Located in the Hong Kong Mall 4 location, it is one of the most popular shops inside. Serving traditional bread rolls that are smeared with house-made pate and house-made mayonnaise, filled to the brim with your choice of protein like grilled pork and then topped with vegetables. This place is delicious!

Nam Giao Restaurant & Bakery
This hole in the wall spot was featured on David Chang’s Houston episode of Ugly Delicious. It is a modest family-run restaurant that specializes in Central Vietnamese cuisines. Here you can find popular dishes like the Banh beo chen which is a steamed rice cake saucer and the banh quai vac which is a shrimp dumpling that many people tend to enjoy.

Roostar Vietnamese Grill
Roostar which is run by the owners Ronnie and Linda Nguyen, showcases style and flare as they make their delicious dishes. Here you can find simple and affordable foods that are so tasty like the gogo chopped ribeye banh mi, the alphabet beef noodle soup and many other popular items you might see on their menu. They also have a second location near the Galleria that offers local craft brews on tap which makes the whole experience even better.

Pho Binh is a Houston staple for any pho lovers. They make some of the best pho with the tastiest broth you’ll ever see. Even chef Justin Yu is a fan of this place. Plus, they also have a sister location called Pho Binh by night that is open late so you can get your pho cravings anytime of the day.

The Blind Goat
If you are a fan of the television show “Masterchef”, then you should be very familiar with this restaurant. One of the winners of the show Christine Ha has opened this new and hip restaurant in downtown Houston.
Here you can find an assortment of Vietnamese cuisines made in a masterful way. From peanut tofu to beef carpaccio or even goat curry with rice, there is simply so many things on the menu that will blow your mind.
Plus, you can even talk and take a picture with Christine Ha herself as she works in this restaurant.

Bún Bò Huế Đức Chương Midnite
If you want authentic and delicious Bun Bo Hue, then you definitely need to come to this spot. After all, the only thing they sell is Bun Bo Hue. Which means that it must be good since they are a restaurant that specializes in it.

Hokkaido is a really awesome hole in the wall sushi joint that not many people know about. Unless you actually grew up in Chinatown, you probably never have heard about it before.
Here at Hokkaido, they offer insanely cheap sushi with an extremely high quality. You can find all sorts of rolls starting from $3 dollars and up. Plus they don’t just serve sushi here, but they serve all kinds of other popular Japanese foods as well.
It’s a fantastic place to come and eat if you are on a budget.

Shabu Zone is an all-you-can-eat shabu shabu place where diners can eat till they drop. There are a huge selection of premium cut meats along with vegetables and sauce. Take these and fill your pot to the brim and start chowing down.

Sushi Miyagi is a gem of a sushi place as it is run by a hardworking mom and pop duo. Here you’ll see them perform culinary magic as they turn out beautiful plates of sashimi, pristine nigiri sushi, and chirashi bowls that have earned the this place a huge amount of followers.

From the creators of Kokoro, Chefs Patrick Pham and Daniel Lee has created another restaurant called Handies Douzo. Here you can find masterfully crafted hand rolls and sushi all made to order.The menu changes frequently, but diners can always expect perfectly wrapped temaki rolls made with crisp nori and super fresh fish.

Uchi is one of the best sushi restaurants in the Houston area. They serve up deliciously tasting and super fresh sushi you can rarely find anywhere else. If you want the best experience however, I would say go with the Omakase where you let the chef choose what you eat. I guarantee it’ll be worth it.

In the world of high end sushi, Kata Robata is a place you must have to try. It is arguably Houstons finest sushi restaurant. You can either choose to do an omakase style meal where you let the chef select what you eat or you can choose from a menu. Whatever the case may be, you will definitely be delighted.
Some of the highlights of this restaurant include Wagyu Shumai, O-Toro, Miso Lobster Mac and Cheese, Duck Ramen and much more.
Do be prepared to shell out some cash as it can definitely be pretty expensive eating here.

Nobu is a very popular Japanese restaurants that is in many different cities all across the United States. It is a high end restaurant where you can see the likes of celebrities and powerful business people come enjoy a meal. However, don’t let that deter you as the restaurant does serve some of the best tasting foods you’ll ever see.

Tiger Den is simply a gem that everybody loves. They specialize in ramen and have quite a few varieties for you to select. From the tonkatsu ramen to the spicy miso or even the vegetarian version, they have it all. Plus, it isn’t just ramen that they serve here but they also serve some delicious sides. You will absolutely love dining in at this restaurant. Do expect to wait awhile though as there is always a line here.

Jinya Ramen Bar
Jinya is a ramen restaurant with multiple locations all around. They have a fast service that delivers some really amazing ramen. Here you can choose from a variety of Chicken, Tonkotsu and even Vegetable ramen, all of which will bring you happiness and joy.

Ramen Bar Ichi
Located inside a small complex, Ramen Bar Ichi is a true gem. Many Houston locals love this spot as they are cheap on the pricing and delivers great tasting ramen. Here you can find the likes of tonkatsu ramen, chicken ramen as well as vegetarian ramen all waiting for you to order.

Another ramen shop that you might like is Ramen Tatsu-ya. It is a quick service ramen shop that specializes in pork, chicken, and vegetarian ramen broths. Just like the other ramen spots I listed on this list, this place also serves some really tasty ramen dishes that you’ll love.

This is probably one of my favorite poke spots in the entire Houston area. At first glance, their menu can be a little intimidating. But once you get use to it, you will absolutely love what it offers. Plus all their fish is extremely fresh so you know this place is good. Not only that but portions here are really generous so you will never leave here feeling hungry again.

If you are feeling like Malaysian food, then Banana Leaf is the place to go. Here you’ll find the classics like chicken fried rice or penang assam laksa and even hot and sour noodles. You will definitely leave this place happy and saitsfied.

Jin Korean BBQ
Jin Korean BBQ is an all-you-can-eat type experience where you can literally eat till you drop. Here they serve up some fresh raw cuts of meat for you to bbq on your grill as well as having pre-cooked stuff as well. It’s fairy cheap for a Korean buffet and will leave you satisfied.

Flower Piggy Korean Restaurant
Flower Piggy is another Korean BBQ that offers an all-you-can-eat type experience. Here they serve up extremely fresh meat at the highest of qualities. It is an extremely delicious place and one that I tend to visit quite a bit. However you should know that it is a bit pricier than other Korean buffets, but the quality is totally worth it.

Tofu village is a special restaurant that serves up really delicious Korean food. Their restaurant is minimally decorated so that more patrons can be seated. They specialize in serving a variety of Korean dishes like bulgogi, zucchini pancakes, noodles and more. Plus, they give you a bunch of sides. Definitely a great place to stop by and enjoy.

Ohn Korean Eatery
Located in a small hope in the wall complex, you’ll be able to find a Korean restaurant called Ohn Korean Eatery. Here they specialize in serving Korean comfort food alongside some drinks like soju and rice wine. Some favorites are Korean Fried rice, corn cheese, and the kream spaghetti that is extremely delicious.

Thai Gourmet is probably the best Thai restaurant in all of Texas. Each and every day there are exceedingly long lines just waiting to get in. But the wait is worth it! With a gigantic menu and foods like crab fried rice, pad Thai, green curry chicken and many more all priced at decently low prices. It is a fantastic place to bring you and your family to try some delicious Thai food.

Tony Thai Restaurant
Tony Thai is a restaurant that specializes in Thai food. Located on Bellaire, you’ll find many Thai bronze sculptures and Thai art that greets diners as they come in. Here you can try some of the favorites like pad Thai or pad see ew and many more Thai food that will blow you away.
