Yumcha is a new addition to the bubble tea family here in Houston. They specialize in serving up deliciously made fresh juice drinks that is simply refreshing. They have a ton of different varieties you can pick from which includes milk tea, chezo tea, supreme fresh fruit tea, seasonal drink as well as drinks topped with a unique and interesting cheese foam.

The drinks are made fresh on the spot daily and is poured into these tall cups with a drinking hole on top. The only downside about this shop is that it is more on the expensive side of things with drinks costing around $5 to $6 dollars on average.

Hailing from Taiwan, ShareTea is a massive franchise chain that has opened up stores all across the world. And here in Houston, it is one of the most popular places to visit for some tasty bubble tea. You can find a ton of different tea drinks here from milk tea, fruit tea, brewed tea, milk, creams, and even ice blended drinks.

One of my personal favorites is the Wintermelon tea which is so refreshing and delicious. However the strawberry ice blended with lychee jelly and ice cream is a close second.

Kungfu Tea is a chain of bubble tea shops hailing from New York. And here in Houston, you can find a bunch of Kungfu Tea shops all around. Which makes it one of Houston’s premier place to get some bubble tea. They have a huge menu selection for you to pick from with hundreds of different possible drinks to be made.

From the classic milk tea to the Mango Green Tea or even the Purple Yam Latte, the options are endless here. So if you want to be surprised by the sheer amount of drinks you can order at a place, then this is definitely the place to visit.

Ding Tea is known for serving some of the best brown sugar boba in all of Houston. It is the exact same kind of drink you have been seeing all over Instagram.

The brown sugar is poured into the cup and rolled all over, while filling the cup with a delicious milk which blends all the flavors together. Fill that with some soft boba pearls and you have yourself an Instagram worthy drink.

But even though they are famous for their brown sugar boba drink, they still serve up a lot of other drinks as well. From a variety of milk teas, fresh fruit drinks, lattes, slushes, coffee, flavored tea and even yogurt drinks, they have it all.

7 Leaves Cafe

7 Leaves Cafe is a new bubble tea chain hailing from California. They pride themselves in making some of the freshest drinks possible. For instance, every day they prep fresh taro roots and pandan for their drinks which gives off immense flavor.

They don’t have a huge menu like the other bubble tea shops found around the city, but what they do have is quality. Try their Taro Milk Tea or Jasmine Tea infused with a sea salt cream foam for some spectacular flavors.

Their price is also very cheap considering the quality of drinks you get which makes it a favorite among many locals around the area.

Tapioca House

Tapioca House

Tapioca House is one of the oldest bubble tea shops in the city. It was also one of the first ones around which started the bubble tea craze here. Inside this place you can find a spacious area where people can lounge around or hang out.

Their bubble tea menu is also quite large as they have many kind of drinks available for you to pick from. From drinks like Green Apple slush or Thai tea and more, you can find all the classics and your favorites here at this shop.

They are also not primarily a bubble tea shop as they also serve a variety of foods and snacks as well. You can find foods like dumplings, beef and noodles, rice bowls and more all here waiting for you to try them out.

The Teahouse Tapioca & Tea is a Houston based franchise that has been slowly expanding over the years. You can literally find them all over the city. They have an extensive menu where you can literally choose from over hundreds of different types of drinks.

Here they use 3 major teas to make the bulk of their drinks. Green Tea, Oolong Tea, and Black Tea. Try some of their most popular drinks like the classic milk tea or taro tea or even try out one of their specialties like cream teas or cream blend smoothies. Plus pair that up with some of their delicious sinkers like aloe vera jelly or ice cream and you’ll have yourself a special creation.

Although this place is more known for their amazing shaved ice dessert dishes, their bubble tea is something you simply can’t skip out on.

Here you can find your classic drinks like the classic milk tea or even the taro milk tea as well as some unique creations like the horchata drink or even the paradise tea. All of which will taste amazing.

Plus don’t just stop there, grab yourself a bowl of shaved ice as well that is filled with condensed milk, fruits, jelly and have yourself a party.

Another Houston based bubble tea shop is one that is called Kim’s Tea House. Along with Tapioca House, Kim’s Tea House is one of the original bubble tea shops that first started in Houston. What first started out as a tiny little place inside a strip mall has now expanded into multiple locations all around the Houston area.

Here you can find a huge menu filled with all sorts of amazing drinks to order. From the classics like milk tea or thai tea to even some specialty drinks like cream teas and slushes, they have it all here.

My personal recommendation is the sea foam matcha where you can get a strong matcha flavor with a salty foam on top that makes it taste amazing.

If you are picky about your tea and want to use only the high qualities, then Tea Top is definitely the place for you. Here they have only 2 types of teas to use, Black Tea and Green Tea. However each one has 3 different types of leaves you can choose from. For instance the black tea version you can pick from either Darjeeling, Earl Grey or even Sun Moon Lake. Where as the green tea version you can pick from Alpine, Jasmine or Oolong Tea.

There menu of drinks isn’t the largest out there, but what they do have is quality and flavor. You can pick from your classics like milk tea or taro milk tea to even special teas or hot drinks. Plus they also have a bunch of toppings and cream foam you can add on to your drink which will give it that extra oomph you been craving for.

Zero Degrees

Zero Degrees is a bubble tea shop who specializes in making some over the top drinks. It is a popular spot for many people to go to as they love to take beautiful Instagram pictures of these drinks.

Their menu is really small as they don’t have a lot of drinks to choose from, but that is a good thing. As you can be sure the drinks they do serve will be top notch in quality and flavor.

They have a really unique and creative menu which features drinks like Ube Milkshake, Spicy Watermelon, Cucumber Limeade, Cookie Monster and many more for you to choose from.

Gong Cha

Gong Cha

Gong Cha is a popular franchise chain based in Taiwan that can be found all over the world. They are rapidly expanding with more and more shops opening each and every month.

Here they pride themselves on 4 things:

  • Fresh Tea brewed every 4 hours
  • Pearl (bubbles) cooked to perfection every 4 hours
  • Tea sourced from the finest Taiwan tea estates
  • Strict quality control for all ingredients

All of which makes Gong Cha a favorite among many people around the world.

Here you can find all your classic drinks as well as specialty drinks like yogurt and slushes. One of my favorites is the dirty brown sugar milk tea with milk foam on top. It is simply divine.

Star Snow Ice & Teriyaki

To be honest, I didn’t know if I wanted to write about this spot at first as it is mainly a restaurant that specializes in serving Taiwanese foods and desserts. But they also have a section where they serve a huge variety of bubble tea drinks. So I guess because of that i’ll be writing about it here.

In this shop you’ll be able to find all kinds of Taiwanese goodness. From bubble teas to shaved ice and even hot foods and snacks like dumplings or beef noodle soup.

It’s a great place to visit if you are hungry for some food as well as wanting some delicious bubble tea. They don’t do any unique or creative creations here, but serve purely the classic bubble tea drinks. That doesn’t mean it’s bad, it simply means their classics are incredibly well polished and flavorful.
