Want To Write For The Traveling Asian? Here’s How To Do It!

The Traveling Asian
The Traveling Asian

I always want to be able to help as many people as I can. However being a single writer can be a bit tiring. There is limitations to just how much I can do. Whether it is the amount of content that I write to even the places that I’ve traveled to. Sometimes I just don’t have enough.

Although I like to be able to write about everything there is to traveling, that simply isn’t possible.

Which is why I’ve decided to start accepting guest posts on this site.

My goal for this site is to be the one stop source for all your traveling needs, and in allowing guest posts to write their content, it allows me to share other peoples experiences with all of you. I want to bring in people who have helpful information and insight that I might not have, especially since I am only a part time traveler.

So, if you’d like to write for this site, here are our guidelines for submissions:

What Content Do We Want?

First, what kind of submissions are we looking for? We’re interested in the following (and only the following) areas:

  • Travel itineraries
  • Travel stories
  • Africa-related content
  • Middle East–related content
  • North America-related content
  • Central Asia–related content
  • India-related content
  • Asia-related content
  • Technology content
  • Gear recommendations

Now we typically allow any type of guest post as long as it helps out the readers. So things such as budget traveling to travel hacks are all acceptable posts that we will allow.

Now of course, travel stories are also amazing too! Just as long as they contain some type of lesson or advice that can help the readers when they travel.

Typical posts are 1,000-2,000 words, are super detailed, contain lots of useful links, and have tips and tricks not found elsewhere. I love insider knowledge!

How to Submit a Post

Send an email to [email protected] with the exact title “New Guest Writer Article Submission”

Include the following:

  • Your travel history
  • Your blog or channel
  • Your topic idea(s), with suggested title(s) and description(s) of the article(s)

Here’s an example of a good email:

Hi Wayne,

My name is Bob and i’m writing about submitting a guest post on your site. I am an avid traveler as I have been traveling around the world for many years, with a special focus on Asia. For the last few years I have been in Asia traveling around as a sightseer and gained a lot of knowledge in this area. My blog is www.Bobblog.com, and I’ve written many posts on this subject that can be found _____.

The guest post that I want to write about is “How to travel around Taiwan on a Budget,” which will focus on how to go around eating cheap, traveling around cheap, and viewing many beautiful things that Taiwan has to offer without breaking the bank. The idea of this post is to show people that Taiwan is a very affordable travel destination that everybody should travel to at least once in their life.

Here are links to some of my writing so you can see how I can put words together.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Simple and to the point. If I like your pitch, I’ll reply. Please DO NOT follow up. While tenacity can often be appreciated, DO NOT follow up. I get too many emails.

Please follow the rules above too. I like people with an attention to details so if you send an email with the wrong subject line or miss any of the other following rules, we’ll delete your pitch!

Finally, please note that if you send me a draft and I find that it will be too much work to edit, I reserve the right to reject it. Additionally, since I am pretty picky, there’s also 99% chance I’ll ask you to make changes to your draft so please expect notes and rewrites.

That’s really it.

If you have any questions, leave them in the comments.
